A #memorial toward the back of #Birkenau #ConcentrationCamp. The stones you see surrounding the memorial stretch as far as the eye can see. There is one stone for each person killed during the #holocaust. It was really difficult to wrap my mind around nearly 6 million lives lost until I saw all the stones… really puts it into perspective. Near by to this is not only the end of the railroad tracks but #Crematorium 4 and an ash pond. The mood at #Birkenau was like one I’ve never experienced. Very surreal that such monstrous event took place not so long ago and the events that are currently taking place in the world today.

#Krakow #Poland. I can not express enough how much I love this city. It has one (if not the oldest) city center/square in #Europe. The city is also extremely walkable and contains so much history! Truly a beautiful place.
